The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct Is Better Than Youve Heard, But | Uproxx Review

But the bones of a good game are here. Thats the really sad part: Its a fun game, when it clicks, but Terminal Reality was given a deadline instead of support. Activision does this a lot: 007 Legends had similar problems although bluntly this is a vastly better game. Hopefully Terminal Reality doesnt suffer the same fate as Eurocom.

The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct screams cynical cash-in. Its not awful, but it can get a bit tedious.

OXM UK: "While Survival Instinct has no problem breaking the rules of the Walking Dead world, it's also hobbled by it: there's none of the crazy, colourful psychopaths of Dead Rising. Hell, there isn't even David Morrissey as Season 3's Governor. Just Walker after Walker. Once you've stabbed one, run past one, and been killed by one, you've played enough. And that two minute process is not worth any amount of money."

Everything about the game seems half broken or unfinished, and frequently both. The artificial intelligence and visuals are particularly poor though, and the environments very bland.

This is just like a zombie, lumbering waiting for someone to put it down.

GR-UK writes: "While some are leaping about the skies of Columbia and weighing up whether we've happened across our GOTY early, I've spent seven hours playing what's easy entry for this year's worst game (so far). An unfinished, at times ridiculous, stupid and above all boring action title that takes AMC's successful zombie series and guts it wholly of any semblance of the character or strength that marked Telltale's superb take of the comic book source material.
It's garbage, pure and simple."

CVG:There's a good game struggling to escape The Walking Dead's clammy clutches. A slow-paced zombie game with an emphasis on scavenging and survival? It's an idea as used as a comfy sofa, but one that becomes a bed of nails due to its atrocious visuals, archaic design and broken mechanics.

The data from UKIE has come out, and MH3U has come into the UK charts in 7th place; 55% of sales are for the 3DS version, while the 45% of Wii U units also account for nearly 50% of the value of Wii U software sales across the board. Rather discouragingly, widely slammed The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is at number three, but a small sign of encouragement is given for Wii U hardware sales with the presence of Nintendo Land, which sneaks into the top 40.
